Single Action Shooting Society

Notes:
Make sure both your pairs of Revolvers and Carbines are of the same caliber.
Each Team Member should have their own guns.
Revolver Barrel must be 4 ¾” or 5 ½”
Shotgun and Rifle Barrel must be 20”
All guns range from .22LR, .38Spc, .44-40, .44, and .45
The reason for conversion guns and carbines is to be historically correct. Although Buffalo Soldiers used whatever was found on the frontier we want to create a uniformity with military issued weapons. Another advantage is to buy these guns that you can use during static displays.

Categories for Gunfighting

Duelist and Double Duelist, Gunfighter, Cowboy, and various Black Powder categories.

Our members in the Buffalo Soldier Mounted Cavalry Unit partake in an international organization called the Single Action Shooting Society otherwise known as SASS. It is cowboy action shooting that holds true to history. Choose an alias and get outfitted with period correct; gunleather, costumes, two revolvers, a shotgun, and a rifle. We compete against each other and amongst other cowboys. Our targets are metal. Exercising our 2nd amendment rights with an emphasis and focus on procedure safety.
